In this beginning Sketchpad webinar, Diana S. Perdue will introduce you to the software and give you all the "basics" so you can start using it in your classroom tomorrow! She’ll guide you step-by-step through each of the tools and common constructions to create sketches that empower your students to explore and justify conjectures about mathematics. In addition, she will provide ready-made sketches and share specific examples of how she has incorporated Sketchpad into her K–12 lessons.

Diana Perdue

Dr. Diana S. Perdue is a creative, energetic advocate for the appropriate and effective use of technology in the classroom. Throughout her career, she has consistently used inquiry-based, student-centered methodologies to help other teachers enhance their students' learning experience. During her tenure as Assistant Professor at West Texas A & M University and as Associate Professor at Virginia State University, she successfully incorporated the use of tools such as The Geometer's Sketchpad, Blackboard, Voki, Moodle, and graphing calculator technologies into her Mathematics and Mathematics Education courses. As a Fulbright Scholar to Rwanda, Dr. Perdue served as the Director of E-learning at KIST (Kigali Institute for Science and Technology) and mathematics faculty member at KIE (Kigali Institute of Education). Currently, Dr. Perdue is Chief Education Officer for Rimwe Educational Resources LLC, an educational consulting company that focuses on improving teaching and learning in the STEM fields, particularly mathematics.
